Does app-based learning mean my child will have less time socializing? While students spend 2hrs on apps in the morning, they spend the rest of the day engaging with their peers and the guides in lively activities. So eDvora students get more socialization than the average school student.
What grade levels does Alpha serve?
eDvora is a K-12 school in NY, with our oldest students in 11th grade. We will graduate our first class in one year. New campuses serve K-8 students.
What are examples of eDvora’s motivational models?
eDvora’s motivational models are both individualized and collective. Guides are responsible for understanding and knowing what motivates each individual student and designing collective rewards when students meet their goals.
Students can earn work time outside or in the eDvora “ThinkTank” room, “eDvora”, our school currency they can use to purchase prizes or larger session rewards such as a laser tag party.
Does my child have access to school work or content above their level? There is no ceiling for academic progression so students are able to progress at their own pace. If your child is in 2nd grade but ready for 5th grade math, then that’s what she’ll work on!
What are examples of workshops at eDvora?
eDvora has hosted a variety of workshops and continues to design and host content students love.
Workshops have included topics such as eDvora Mad Scientists (life skill: learn to learn), eDvora Animation Studios (public speaking and storytelling), Lyrical Genius (brand building), Consultants (be an expert), How to Buy Stuff (personal finance), Now You See Me (public speaking and storytelling), among many others.
The 40k price-tag seems rather high for 2h learning.
eDvora tuition is inclusive of ALL student activities (like a trip to Formula 1 or Poland) and Alpha will never EVER ask parents for additional fundraising. With this in mind Alpha tuition remains on par with the nation's best private schools.
How does eDvora select Guides?
We take deep pride in hiring at eDvora. Guides are selected based on: 1) their ability to motivate and know students and 2) their ability to plan engaging life skills workshops. We select Guides from top universities across the country with competitive backgrounds in fields like tech and start-ups.
